Methods The participants in the study were racial minority undergraduates screened through a psychology participant pool questionnaire, Patient Health Questionaire-9 (PHQ-9). 100 racial minority undergraduates with elevated depression were pulled from the questionnaire. Among the 100 participants, there was 45% male and 55% female with the average age being around 19. The college undergraduates ranged from freshman to seniors with, 67% freshman, 20% Sophomores, 10% Juniors, and 3% Seniors. Among the college students, the majority were African-American at 85%, Asian 10%, and the rest 5%. If you notice the majority totals for the subcategories of the population, there was an elevated depression between African American Freshman Females. The results of the sample taken were measured based upon the PHQ-9 which screens and measures the severity of depression.
